It has been nearly 16 years of bliss, Royal Bliss
that is. Royal Bliss is modern rock with equal parts beauty and
tragedy. The new album Chasing The Sun, out February 18th 2014, is a bold statement for Royal Bliss. Peaking at #5 on the iTunes rock charts and
already getting rave reviews, “This album makes me weak in the knees. Chasing The Sun is quite simply a stunner – a beautifully crafted,
heart-ripping, chest-thumping, ass-kicking stack of rock – classic rock, hard rock, modern rock, all of that good stuff. The entire album is rippling
with amazing vocals, brawny riffs, killer drums, and lyrics that cut right through the pre-fab bullshit and into some serious heart-and-soul
The band amps it up on their latest single "Cry Sister". Currently climbing the active rock charts (#31) and impacting radio with #1 requests. This is
Royal Bliss’ 6th Single to crack the top 50 on Active Rock radio since 2008.
Hailing from Salt Lake City, Royal Bliss started in a basement as a few kids who had a passion for music and a drive to succeed. Striving to further
their own abilities while building their fan base at the same time was always the ultimate goal. The music has been a message to those who listened,
evolving every step of the way. From the early days when the lyrics echoed that of a late night frat party, to the deep, meaningful, and sometimes
cries for help, the process of evolution is undeniable.
The new album Chasing The Sun was recorded in their hometown of Salt Lake City, UT during the course of 2013. Working with long time friend and
producer Matt Winegar (Primus, He also did the Royal Bliss Capitol Records Debut “Life In-Between”). Guitarist Taylor Richards states “We felt at home
and were in no rush to get this album done. We would go in the studio for a week or two and knock out a few ideas. Come back a few weeks later,
sometimes maybe even a month or two would pass before we would go back in and finish up those ideas. Then we’d start on a few more new songs. We
really expanded our musical spectrum on this record. There are more synthesizers, keyboards and piano all over the record that we never really had
before. Also, there was no pressure from management or record label.” In fact, during 2013 Royal Bliss officially started their own label “Air Castle
Records” with distribution through Universal (INgrooves).
When asked about the meaning behind one of the band’s older songs, Middleton explained, “Devils and Angels is about feeling like you’re stuck in the
middle and having to make a choice. It’s kind of like the old cartoons when the main character would have an angel on his right shoulder telling him
to do the right thing and the devil on his left shoulder telling him the opposite. The song is just about internal struggles.”
Royal Bliss has been making their mark across the country for years now. Constant writing, recording, and touring have helped build the success of the
band. The wide variety of influences from Johnny Cash to Snoop Dog to Led Zeppelin and the Toadies with everything in between has melded a sound that
cannot be denied. In 2009 their Capitol Records debut Life In-Between charted in the Billboard top 200 and was #1 in Billboard Heatseekers. More
recently in 2012 they self released Waiting Out The Storm that was #9 on iTunes Rock Charts and hit #2 in Billboard Heatseekers. Since their debut
Royal Bliss’ music is played across the country on the most popular Rock radio stations, and has been in heavy rotation ever since. Touring with acts
such as Buckcherry, Candlebox, Chevelle, Kid Rock, and Papa Roach has only increased the demand for the dynamic band from Utah. From the on-stage
antics of front man Neal Middleton, to the energetic live shows, Royal Bliss continues to win fans over…all over the globe.
Royal Bliss is touring all through 2014 in support of their new record Chasing the Sun and looking to head overseas for the first time. Check the tour
